To be accepted as an accredited member of APTEC, a university must meet the following standards.
The university must be legally registered within the country it is located. It must offer a full distance learning degree program without any resident requirement.
The university must have a non-discrimination policy on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, or marital status.
The university will have to provide a confidentiality policy to students regarding privacy of academic and personal record. The university will not graduate any student who fails to meet the academic requirements as set by that institution.
It would be the responsibility of the university to inform APTEC about any material change in the operation of their college that might cause concern to the Council.
A university may only be considered for accredited membership when nominated by a member of APTEC.
A member may quit any time by tendering his resignation either in writing or by e-mail.
